It's winter, and you know what that means – flu season is in full swing! Personally, this year hasn't been the friendliest to me. Dealt with bronchitis in November, and now I'm battling the flu in January. But no worries, because whenever I'm feeling under the weather, I turn to this trusty tea that works like magic. So, if you find yourself in the sick boat this winter, do yourself a favor and whip up a cup of this immune-boosting tea!
Ingredients
3 cups of water
The juice of 2 lemons
The juice of an orange + some of the peel
A big chunk of fresh ginger (about 5 cm/ 2 inches)
A small chunk of fresh turmeric (about 2-3 cm/ 1 inch)
1 cinnamon stick + 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Freshly cracked black pepper
1 big teaspoon of good-quality honey
Directions
Add all of your ingredients in a pot, except for the honey. Simmer on medium-heat for about 5 to 10 minutes.
Turn off the heat. Add the honey and stir until it dissolves.
You're done! Serve it hot with an additional teaspoon of honey.
